QuicKit #6: Ice House (HO)
$24.00
This HO scale Ice House was often found on the caboose track in the yard. Since many cabooses didn’t have mechanical refrigeration, the ice company would deliver blocks of ice that the crew could use to keep their ice box cool in the crummy. Ice Houses could be found at other businesses too, such as restaurants, bars and groceries, as well as at some farms. As the ice box fell out of use, these sturdily built structures were often used as storage buildings. This is a quality craftsman kit with thorough instructions that are amply illustrated. This kit includes scale stripwood, laser cut walls and doors, signage, ice blocks, hinges and door handles, as well as roofing material. Footprint is 2″ x 1.5″. Trackwork and scenery as shown are not included.
