KIT #5 BACKGROUND:
The yard’s RIP track was a key player in keeping merchandise moving across the railroad. On-the-spot repairs could be done quickly on a freight car so it could be put on the next train out. These structures were not fancy, often put together with left-over lumber and some tin on the roof to keep the rain off the workers. All the tools needed to do a repair on the fly were close at hand: jacks to raise the car, spare wood to replace a damaged floor board, crowbars and other hand tools, grinders and welding equipment, to name a few. Also, spare wheel sets were present for replacement when needed.
Kit will include everything needed to build the structure, including detail castings. It does not include wheel sets, scenery, flooring material, figures, vehicles, freight cars, glue, paint, trackwork and benchwork.

Jim Oberst –
Excellent kit! Very clear & thorough instructions. The best set of detail parts I’ve ever seen.
Jim –
Thanks Jim! We really focus on the directions. That’s one of the reasons we include so many photos, both in the directions and on the website. This kit, in particular, has a great set of details. Appreciate the comments! Be sure and send some pictures of your model; we will post them on our website.
Enjoy the new QuicKits.

Bob –
I really enjoy these yard structures. The details make the scene. That scene you created is perfect to highlight an otherwise mundane track.

Thank you! Great customer service!

This is the best craftsman kit I have ever made. The quality of the material was excellent. The instructions were thorough and easy to follow. Painting the detail items was occasionally challenging. But that is one of the things I enjoy most about model railroading.
Jim –
Thanks Alex! I agree on the detail items, but they really make the scene.
